So....I'm His Wife Now!

Saturday, October 24, 2009

Wow! I can't beleive that my wedding journey has ended. But this is the begging of somthing wonderful. Actually it's more than wonderful its miraculous. It's a miracle becasue this all began with a dream God gave me on June 15th 2007. In the dream I knew God had told me that Chris was going to be my husband. It was so funny. I went to bed thinking nothing of Chris and woke up the next day nearly  in love. It's a journey I would never want to revisit, but I would never want to give back. There were lots of praying, fasting, crying, laughing and crazy "school girl" type sillininess. My wedding was a fullfillment of a dream and the beginning of an adventure.

While on our pre-moon we went to a convienient store to get a few items. Chris went up front to check out. I was pouring coffee and the cashier asked him, "Will this be all?" and he said, "This and my WIFE is getting coffee as well." I had to pause and catch my breath! It flowed so easily from his mouth. I looked at him and knew I had made the best decision of my life.

Thank you God for this man...my husband.

NEW Blog!

Thursday, October 22, 2009

Now that I am a Mrs...I have moved my blog to http://thencomeswife.blogspot.com.  Ironically I created the blog on October 12th of 2008. This was six months before Chris and I were engaged. I was just believing that God was going to make it happen for me. It was also a Sunday....so technically this blog was registered one year to the date of our wedding this year. Who says God doesn't give you sins and wonders anymore? :)

Day 5: We Get Each Other

While there are times that Chris and I don't understand each other we have been blessed in having a true understanding of one another. It's weird, but there are times that we finish each others sentences or look at each other and know what we are thinking. I know many couples feel that way and many couples don't. I am happy to be on the latter. I know when he is mad, excited, being goofy, or hungry just in the way he looks. It's kinda funny. I know that our connection will continue to grow and develop as does our marriage. But I must admit that five days before my wedding, while some are questioning the strength of their relationship, I am resting on the strength of ours.

Day 7: We Laugh at Everything Together!

Chris and I always know how to turn any conversation into a laughing, giggling and all around hilarious time. Even the most serious of subjects we find some way to insert humor. We try to limit teasing as much as possible because we know that it can lead to problems in marriage down the line, but we sometimes we can't help it. Whether Chris is commenting on my neurotic behavior..like blogging at 5 am or my mimicking his "robotic" like tendencies....the laughs are always rolling. The humour reminds us of our friendship when we are going through the everyday circumstances of life. It turns the mundane into the joyous. It is amazing how a simple laugh can bring two people so close to one another.

My Bouquet

I never really thought about what tent into a bouquet. It just looks like a bunch of gathered flowers on my end. But from my research it became quite apparent that bouquets are really works of art. One thing I discovered as well is that I like uniform color and want texture to give it its uniqueness. Of course peonies are perfect for this, but as I mentioned in my last entry they just are not possible this time of year. So I opted for some very chic roses that will fool anyone into thinking they are anything but peonies. Here are a few bouquets I have been swooning over.

Peonies Are So Pase'

Saturday, October 3, 2009

My wedding colors are various shades of white with accents of gold and a bit of silver. I know I can get very carried away in the creativity apartment, o I knew that sticking with such a simple scheme would keep me tame. I also love many different types of flowers so I only allowed myself to have four types: Roses, Hydrangea, Tulips and Orchids. I would have loved to used peonies, but they are very hard to get in October and very expensive no matter what time of year it is. However I found some gorgeous peony alternatives that are only a fraction of the price. All of them are roses!

There are many more colors shapes and sizes, but I love the various whites, peaches, creams and blushes. A few of these beauties will be featured at our wedding in different arrangements.

Biltmore Galore!

Thursday, October 1, 2009

Now that we are almost a week away I am obsessing more and more about our venue. With it's gilded gold ceiling and hand painted details, I could just kiss it. Well, kiss in it. Which I plan to do on Oct. 11th! Wait pinch me...it's October today...I just realized it. OK...so not only is it my birthday in 7 days, but it is my wedding in 10. This is such a crazy time. Well I have scoured the Internet and have found a plethora of pictures to entice our guest with what is to come.

Our wedding will take place in the Imperial Ballroom and then move to the Georgian for the rest of the evening. Here are pics of mostly the Georgian...with a few Imperial. I kinda want to keep that room more of a surprise.

Wedding Lounge

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

A hot trend in the wedding scene is to do a lounge; either in the cocktail hour or for the dancing portion of the evening. It adds to ambiance of the room and also gives guest extra comfy seating during the night.

I think bright colors work best for the space. It seperates it from the bridal feel and gives it more of a party look.

Here is an entire wedding that was created to look like a lounge/ club in Paris...looks fun!

While the lounge idea is a great I personally feel that it is overkill unless you just want to spend money. I think I will stick to my good old gold chivaris.

Day 14: Truly Commited

A few weeks ago Chris was invited to play golf with a friend at one of the most prestigious country clubs in the country. He was beyond ecstatic. He told me about it after he received the invite and I was so happy for him. Well, later that night he called me again and apologized. I couldn't figure out why. He explained that he didn't consult with me to see if it was okay to go out with this friend. Why you may ask? Because the friend was a woman. Of course I trust Chris more than anyone in the world, but the fact that he goes out his way to show me that I am the most important woman in his life allows me to live free of the stress and heartache than many women suffer in a less than secure relationship. Even in the ministry he never gives other women specific attention and makes it very clear by his body language and communication his boundaries. He did this even before we were together. So now that we are together I know that his dedication to me and boundaries with all others is real. I couldn't imagine living any other way.

Wedding Jitters...Definitely NOT Cold Feet!

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

I am a nervous wreck today. I had a bad dream that I was a day early for the wedding. I also had a dream in which nothing was ready for the day. It shook me, but I know it is just my mind playing tricks on me. But still....I am nervous. Maybe nervous is the wrong word. I think I am really excited...maybe eager. I just can't believe that will be a married woman in two and a half weeks! What in the world?!? It seems so unreal. This picture is of a wedding held at my venue...it really gives me relief.

What's with all the baby talk?

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Okay, so I am not even married yet and I get so many questions about when am I having a baby. I know many engaged, married and even single women get this question too. I know people mean well by it, but am honestly supposed to know. I am trying to keep my head above water with wedding stuff; let alone planning my pregnancy. Besides that it's quite intrusive. It's like asking a person when are they going to get out of debt, lose weight or my favorite "Time is ticking; you don't want to be too old when you get married!" Now that I am done with my ranting and raving I must go on the record and say I love babies and can't wait to have many of them. In fact everytime I see a baby I go nuts and gush all over the little bundle. I definitely was built to be a mother and that is one reason I am choosing to stay at home. I even browse baby stff at stores...don't even say it! Yes, I'm very excited for that day to come...with that said a there is another bundle of joy I am looking forward to bring home a little sooner.

I'll give you a clue: whats short and cute and hairy all over? That's right a puppy!

The type of puppy is to be determined. I know that it must be under 10lbs full grown and very fuzzy. I also want a boy. While Chris and I plan to adopt bigger dogs in the future this little guy will suit me just fine right now. I have such a soft spot for all dogs. I told Chris the other night while we we're watching Animal Cops that if I weren't going to stay at home that I would want to work with animals. It is hard for me to watch that show now because it makes me cry. The cruelty of some people is unforgivable. I won't even discuss a certain athlete who did some unthinkable things to very innocent dogs.

Anyways, back to happy puppy talk. I am trying to figure out whether I want a Yorkie, Pomeranian or a designer breed. Yes, designer dogs exist. My favorite is the Morkie (Maltese +Yorkie= Morkie)
Here's a little video of one full grown:

Here is a baby:

I am hoping beyond all hope to get one for my birthday/wedding present...but I don't think it will work out due to travel and home renovations....let's pray for Christmas!
